2011 – Look Back

We can’t believe that it’s 2012 already! Where did 2011 go?! For Nadine and I, 2011 has been one crazy packed year. We worked with so many incredible and creative clients and shot more work than ever before. We had a great wedding season. Some highlights for 2011 included shooting portraits for a local filming of ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, shooting a wedding in Ravens Stadium in Baltimore (So cool to shoot on the field!), and being chosen for a full page feature in the Delaware Bride Magazine. The busier we got the less we updated the blog. We did manage to keep our facebook page updated with new work, so be sure to click through to fb and like our page to see tons more images! (www.facebook.com/greengiraffephotography) We may still blog full post about some of these 2011 events, but wanted to share some of our favorite images in this post. We’ll always remember 2011. We made many new friends and lost two loved family members. We laughed and cried and prayed. We’re thankful for all that God has blessed us with. We can’t wait to see what 2012 has to hold. The love this couple has for one another is the very first thing you notice when you meet them. It’s beautiful! Brittany and Chris have spent most of the last year apart as he finished up with his degree, so this wedding was the exciting culmination of their reunion. Their bayside wedding was filled with family, fun, and special details. The bride’s shoes were one of our favorite features—silver, sparkly Toms! We also loved all the cool spots to grab some unique shots. Brittany and Chris braved the field of ivy for some of the shots; I think they’d agree the final product made it all worth it! The dock that stretched out behind the wedding also provided a beautiful sunset location for pictures! Let us know what you think, leave a comment! – Nadine & Kyle

What an absolute joy it was to be a part of Whitney & Jason’s wedding! This amazing couple definitely wins the award for the wedding party having traveled the farthest for the ceremony! Jason is from Australia and so many friends and family made the journey to celebrate the marriage. The vintage themed wedding was filled with beautiful details and personal touches. Loved it! We also loved that this crew was up for anything! We got some great pictures because they were so adventurous. From climbing in an old rusty boat, to getting ready in an old blacksmith shop, this bridal party was delightful! I guess Aussies really do have more fun!

The Lewes Historical Society is an amazing wedding venue, we’d highly recommend them and would love to shoot there again soon!

April Newborn

Our dear friends just welcomed baby #3 and we were thrilled when they asked us to take pictures for them! As you know, we have been able to shoot a few newborns recently, but this little man was the first who was awake and ready to go for most of the session. We were even able to wrangle baby’s older brother and sister for a few family shots as well. What better way to spend Easter dinner than with friends followed by celebrating their new addition with photography? We are so pleased with how this shoot went and LOVED how the images turned out. Kyle and I were hard pressed to pick favorites! I like the dandelions, Kyle likes the vivid green foliage shots. Which do you like best?

Meet Krista & Brett

Meet Krista & Brett! We met up with this awesome couple a few weeks ago to shoot their engagement photos. Krista had planned out some amazing locations to shoot around historical Princess Anne MD, including the awesome site featured in this blog post. We headed out to a rural location to the ruins of a church that was built in 1784! It was an amazing place to shoot and ended up being surrounded by wild buttercups, what a bonus! if you’re interested in seeing some more pictures, check out their album on the Green Giraffe facebook page! We’re shooting Krista & Brett’s wedding this December and could not be more thrilled!

Thanks for Visiting the Blogsite, we just finished this complete remodel and are still ironing out some of the little things. Thanks for being patient for the week or so that our website was down for this overhaul. We’re also a little behind on blogging and have are right in the middle of a 7 week string of weekend weddings! We’ll keep up with it was best as we can, so stay tuned to see all the exciting things that are headed this way! We love what we do and are blessed with so many awesome clients this season! February Newborn

We had a great time shooting with this beautiful baby and his family at their home. He was very cooperative and we love how the pictures turned out! Nadine and I don’t have any kids of our own yet, but we love getting to work with other people’s beautiful children! We love the flexibility and relaxed feeling that came with working in our clients home. These first few days of life are so amazing, it is awesome to be able to document them! Nadine and I primarily shoot weddings, but would love to work with more families and babies, please get in touch with us if you’d like us to work with your family!

Meet Nadine’s sister Megan! Megan’s an awesome artist and designer. She designed our logo for GGP! We’re excited to share a few images with you that Nadine I shot while we were home in Ohio this past fall. We were home for Thanksgiving and had a chance to shoot some pictures with Megan on their grandfather’s farm. South East Ohio is amazingly beautiful, it was a great place to shoot. Lots of awesome hills (which we really miss living here in the flatlands of Delaware) and the little country church Nadine and Megan attended as children. John – Senior Pictures

Hello! I’m not dead i promise! If you follow this blog, you’ve probably noticed that there hasn’t been a blog post in some time. We have been very busy – meeting with brides for this summer’s wedding season, working on GGP’s social media – we’re on twitter and Facebook - and also restructuring our business with some exciting new features (coming soon). I shot these senior pictures with John this fall and they are now just making the blog! John’s an awesome guy, ridiculously fun and easy to work with. He’ll be graduating from Delmarva Christian High School. Tina & Michael – Rehoboth Beach Engagement!

Today it snowed here, they closed schools early for two stinking inches! I’m not a huge fan, it seems really early for snow in Delaware. Nasty Snowy Day = the perfect day to post an engagement session from beautiful sunny rehoboth beach! I met Tina and Michael for the first time at a Fractured Prune this summer (Any excuse to get fractured prune doughnuts right!) and then we shot this session later this fall. We got lucky and had a beautiful sunny fall day! Tina and Michael are from Pennsylvania and have traveled to Rehoboth beach for many vacations. They’re getting married here next summer and wanted to shoot some beach themed engagement pics. Tina brought an amazing selection of props and ideas, which made our job a breeze! We started on the beach with some cool picnic props, rented some bikes for a few pics, and then walked around town to some of Tina and Michael’s favorite Rehoboth spots. There were so many good shots from this session, it was hard to choose which ones to post! We love shooting engagement sessions, it’s always fun, we love getting to know our clients a little better before their wedding day, and it always results in some really great images for our couples. We’ve also found it makes a difference for the wedding day itself, the couples we shoot e-sessions with tend to have a greater level of comfort in front of the camera. That translates to more natural smiles and interactions in their wedding pictures. Tina, thanks for coming with so many ideas, you are amazing! Michael, thanks for being a good sport! Jill & Coard – An Elegant Country Wedding

Jill and Coard and their families put an incredible amount of creativity, time, and thought into their beautiful fall wedding. The result was an amazing day for everyone involved! We had such a great time working with this couple. They were genuinely kind, calm and fun to shoot with. We got to know Jill and Coard a little when we shot their engagement photos this spring (click here to see them). We knew they were fun and laid back, so we were looking forward to their wedding all summer! The day finally came and it did not disappoint. The wedding was at little country church and the reception was held at Coard’s family farm. Everything coordinated with their elegant country theme. There were so many great photography opportunities, and so many sweet images, it was super hard to narrow down which ones to post. We’re so excited to be able to share these images with you!
